Vanilla cupcakes with chocolate.

Everybody loves cupcakes, right? Just what I thought! I invented these cupcakes on my own but it's actually just a recipe to make a regular cake. I've added chocolate filling and chocolate frosting to it and if I may believe the critics, it's pretty good. For an ordinary cupcake, that is. You can find the recipe below:

Ingredients

Cupcakes

  • 4 eggs
  • 250 g butter
  • 250 g flour
  • 250 g sugar
  • 35 g chocolate
  • 1 ts vanilla extract

Frosting

  • 110 g chocolate
  • 90 g butter (at room temperature)
  • 240 g powder sugar
  • 3 tbs milk
  • 1 ts vanilla extract

Preparation

  1. Melt the chocolate and preheat the oven at 180°C. You can also prepare your cupcake papers.
  2. Mix the butter with the sugar. Add the eggs one at a time, when the first egg is incorporated in the mixture you can add the next one (and so on). Finally, add the vanilla extract and flour.
  3. Put about one tablespoon of the dough in a cupcake paper. Add a teaspoon (or a little more) of the melted chocolate and top off with another tablespoon of the dough.
(Another (maybe easier) way to put the chocolate in the cupcake is to just fill up your cupcake as you normally would and instead of melting the chocolate first, just put a piece of it in the middle and press it under. It will melt as you bake your cupcake.)
  4. Put in the oven for 20minutes (or until the cupcakes are ready). Let them cool off when they're done.
  5. Now the frosting: melt the chocolate over medium heat and let cool off until room temperature.
  6. Mix the butter with the chocolate. Add the powder sugar and vanilla extract.
  7. Add the milk until you reached the consistency you like.
  8. Top the cupcakes off with a bit of frosting. (I could use some practice at this part, mine always turn out to look a bit like... Well, just not appetizing! Luckily, they don't taste as bad as they look)
